A great Festival of Arts & Entertainment for people of every taste...held every winter at Edison College, Punta Gorda Campus. Solid-packed with dancing, musical theatre,
classical, choral, hands-on kids art
center, jazz, visual arts demos, plus
the most current information on what's
happening in the Lively Arts in Charlotte
County. Next year's festival is March 5, 2005 and it's free.

Arts in Public Places
Art works by local artists are presented for public viewing in eleven sites throughout the county, and more places will soon be added.

Cafe Philo
For those who wish to participate in real dialogue about the larger questions of life in an informal setting. Several groups meet around the county.

Very Special Arts
An arts festival for the county's exceptional
students -- art stops, drama and dance workshops,
musical performances -- lots of fun and creative
opportunities for learning. At Charlotte Harbor school in April, 2005.
Public is welcome.
The event is free.
Aid to the Cultural Community
Over the years, the Arts Council has granted
more than $231,000 to non-profit arts
groups, artists and teachers for the purpose
of furthering the enjoyment of music, theatre, and visual arts in this community.
As a result, well over 45,000 students
have been exposed to fine arts, music and entertainment as have some 100,000 adults (at no cost.)

Charlotte ARTS
Our bi-monthly newspaper lists activities
of our member groups. The Charlotte ARTS
is published by the Council and inserted into
the Charlotte Sun Herald to reach a wide
audience. The paper keeps you abreast of
what's happening culturally in the county.
The Arts & Humanities Council also works
with local business and civic groups to promote
Charlotte County as a great place to visit and
invest in. We welcome arts groups, family/individual
and corporate members who believe in that a
lively arts community is good for everyone. |

The Arts & Humanities Center at 2811M Tamiami
Trail,LaPlaya Plaza Port Charlotte, has a new fine art exhibit of
artists every month. We also have resource materials
on arts festivals, granting entities, ballet, arts
education and office equipment for our members.
Membership in the Arts & Humanities Council
We welcome everyone who believes in the value of the arts to the enhancement of our quality of life. Research clearly shows the benefit of arts in learning
more easily and living longer, more fulfilling lives.
